Product relationship
The Life Story Handbook and The Life Story Companion are separate products. The handbook is designed to stand on its own. Buying the handbook does not automatically grant a Companion license unless a future approved bundle expressly says so.
What the Companion is
The Life Story Companion is designed as a downloadable AI skill used inside a compatible AI assistant. It is not a standalone AI assistant and does not include a C.B. Ventures hosted project database. Supported platforms, installation methods, host continuity limits, pricing, and licensing will be listed only after the relevant skills-only configuration has been tested and approved.
User responsibility for source material
Users are responsible for having the right to use, upload, process, share, or publish the recordings, transcripts, photographs, documents, and other source material they provide. Family history can involve living people and sensitive information; users should obtain appropriate permission before sharing private material beyond its intended audience.
Accuracy and historical claims
The Companion is designed to distinguish remembered accounts, family lore, documented evidence, inference, and unresolved information. It cannot guarantee that a memory, source, transcription, research result, or generated passage is accurate. Users remain responsible for reviewing important factual claims before publication or distribution.
No professional advice
The Companion is not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, mental-health, archival, genealogical, or other professional advice. Users should consult an appropriate professional when a decision requires specialized judgment.
Privacy and visibility
Users control the intended audience and disclosure of their project material. The Companion is designed not to publish, externally share, change visibility, or conduct external research without appropriate authorization, but actual platform capabilities and data handling depend on the supported host and configuration. Intellectual property
C.B. Ventures retains rights in the proprietary Life Story Companion skill, workflow packaging, software, and associated product materials except where a future written license states otherwise. Users retain whatever rights they otherwise hold in their own source material and original story content.
Pre-release changes
Features, supported platforms, packaging, pricing, licensing, and distribution may change before production release. Nothing on the pre-release site guarantees that a specific platform or commercial offer will launch.
Production terms
Commercial checkout for the Premium Skill is live. Refund/cancellation terms, detailed end-user license language, and any service-specific provisions may still be refined and will remain linked from this permanent public destination as they are finalized. The skill remains skills-only: it does not include a C.B. Ventures hosted MCP or project database.
